Chase Properties Ltd., a Beachwood, Ohio-based owner and operator of shopping centers, announces the acquisition of Southgate Plaza in Heath, Ohio. Southgate Plaza is an 86,000 square foot shopping center that is anchored by Hobby Lobby and Best Buy. Matthews Retail Advisors brokered the sale.
Heath is located approximately 30 miles east Columbus, Ohio, and serves as the retail hub for Newark, Heath and all of Licking County. Other major retailers within close proximity to Southgate Plaza are Super Walmart, Target, Giant Eagle, Dick’s Sporting Goods and TJ Maxx.
Southgate Plaza is Chase Properties’ fourth acquisition in 2015 as the company continues to focus on acquiring high quality shopping centers in secondary and tertiary markets. According to Andy Kline, Chase Properties’ Principal and Managing Director, “Chase has a history of successfully acquiring centers in these smaller markets. The recent relocation of Hobby Lobby to Southgate Plaza speaks to the strength of the location and market.”
